Moscow Idaho's Farmer's Market Always a Success!

On Sept. 18 I enjoyed a lovely stroll through the Moscow's Farmer's Market. There are tons of different booths that sell all sorts of different things. There are three different sections at the market: farm grown produce, arts and crafts, and food vendors. Every time I visit the market is such a good experience. People can bring their dogs too but they have to be on a leash. Everyone is friendly and didn't mind having their picture taken or talking about what they are selling and information about their company or farm.

The Moscow Farmer's Market has been running for 33 years and happens every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. And starts in May until October. The Farmer's Market is my mock client for my JAMM 350 class. I'm excited to get to know more about the organization as a whole and how I could help the organization in any way with my media tools that I've been learning.

Come visit the Farmer's Market and see for yourself why the market is so special. There are also live bands playing and a playground for children to play. Everyone is welcome and it's great for students to have their parents come and visit and enjoy the morning market then check out the local restaurants for brunch if your not full from the market vendors.

Here are some pictures that I've taken to just show you what goes on at the Farmer's Market! Hope to see you there on Saturdays!

Lady Gaga Wearing a Meat Bikini

I didn't see this one coming! Lady Gaga has gone above and beyond of what's expected of her reputation as the newest pop icon sensation. Bearing all but a "meat" bikini, Gaga is photographed on the front of the September issue of the Japanese Vogue.

PETA is outraged by this diva's photo, "Oh, Lady Gaga's job is to do outlandish things, and this certainly qualifies as outlandish because meat is something you want to avoid putting on or in your body," PETA's President, Ingrid Newkirk, told The Daily News.

No matter how beautifully it is presented, flesh from a tortured animal is flesh from a tortured animal. Meat represents bloody violence and suffering, so it that's the look they were going for, they achieved it."

Wow, those were some harsh words from PETA. What do you think about Gaga's look for the magazine? Is this no big deal to other cultures?

What Public Relations Means to Me...

Lately I've been watching The Spin Crowd which is about a Public Relations company called Command PR. There are two executives who run the show and they also have employees who help run the special events. I find this show very insightful but it's also filled with unwanted drama I could do without.

I love celebrity TV and pop culture and I follow it to the best of my knowledge. I find it more entertaining than hard news. Yes... I am an American who would rather talk, watch and read about celebrities. You could say I put them on a pedestal but I don't hold them to a better standard than humans. I just like watching them I guess. This latest news about Paris Hilton is a huge issue not just to me but to a lot of people.

Questions have been raised to whether or not she has been held to a higher standard than most people who've possible committed crimes. Hilton has been seen in and out of the police station in Las Vegas where as people who've been arrested stay inside the building and usually aren't allowed to leave. Is she getting special treatment? Do stars usually get special treatment just because they are celebrities and the "law" doesn't want the public too involved?

But is it the public's right to know?

She isn't a threat to the people of Las Vegas and people getting pulled over isn't a taboo, it happens all the time every second of the day. What do you think about this issue? Do they get special treatment? Are they sought out to be made examples of just because of their "status?"

Wow I went from the Spin Crowd to celebrity drama. Let me know what you think about celebrities and how they are treated.
